Haridwar & Rishikesh Tour Plan
Haridwar & Rishikesh Tour Plan
Six years back in my home, I am going through a local daily. An advertisement just makes my mind and thereafter I planned to visit Haridwar with my family and with some of my relatives. On March,2014 we started our journey for Haridwar. Our express train is from Howrah,West bengal,India at the afternoon hrs. We reached Haridwar after 26 hrs journey. As we have booked our hotel previously that is why a representative of the Hotel had came to receive us. Our hotel is at Motibazar nearby Bhagat Singh Hotel. They have alloted us high quality rooms. We have our vegetable dinner because non-veg and taking of alchol is strictly prohibited throughout the area We had gone for sleep late at night.
You might be knowing that Haridwar is one of the most Hindu Pilgrimage Center in North India. The language spoken there is Hindi.
Next morning after making breakfast and taking our bath,we hired a Maruti Esteem Car which had been arranged by the Proprietor of the Hotel to see the places of attraction at Haridwar. Around 9 o'clock in the morning we started our journey.
We first moved to Rajaji National Park which is around 10KMS from Haridwar. It is an ideal destination for wildlife and adventure lovers. We have seen panthers, tigers, elephants, deers and also speecies of different birds. The ideal time to visit the park are from November to June. You can visit www.rajajinationalpark.co.in to check out the details. We have made videos as well as snapped many photos. After spending about a hour we left for our next destination.
We next moved for Daksheswar Mahadev Temple. Located in the town of Kankhal, the temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is named after King Daksha Prajapati, the father of Sati.
From Haridwar the distance is near about 4KMS.
Next we moved to see the Seesh Mahal which is one of the beautiful for it's unique construction. It is build by Swami Vasudeb ji Maharaj. The walls and ceilings of the hall are covered with imported glasses on the either side. An unbelieavle thing I found there,is a Sculpture of Lord Krishna is kept there and when I saw through the mirrors,I got to see more than hundreds of Lord Krishna. This is an unique thing about the temple. After that we returned to our hotel to take our Lunch.
Next day we visited Shri Mata Mansa Devi Temple, which is one of the ancient hindu temple.
The temple is located on the Sivalik of the Bilwa Parvat. We visited the temple through Ropeway Service . It has also a 3km pedestrian path from Haridwar. After 40 minutes we returned to the hotel, take lunch and taken rest.
On the next day in the morning we all visited Har Ki Pauri and taken bath. Their is also an option for anyone to hold an iron chain in one hand and take bath thereafter due to excessive water current. There we snap many photographs of one another. After that we return back to the hotel, take lunch and rested.
In the evening we all visited Har Ki Pauri ghat to see the extremely beautiful Ganga Arti. We have noticed people floating thousand of Diyas (Lamps) with flowers through a special kind of leaf which was given a shape of a bowl. I also float one. After the arati is over we take Prasad and done some marketing nearby and returned to hotel.
Next morning we moved to Hrishikesh which is around 26KMS from Haridwar.
At Rishikesh we found Ramjhula as well as Laxmanjhula. The bridge are so named because people believe that both Shri Ram & Laxman have crossed the river on two jute ropes respectively.
Ramjhula is an iron suspension bridge over the river Ganges. On the other hand Laxmanjhula is 450 feet long iron suspension bridge constructed over the Ganga river in 1923. We have purchased a lot of pullovers, bedcovers, shawls because those are very cheap at Rishikesh. We reached to the other side of the jhula by walking as because four wheelers are not allowed. We have our Lunch from the famous Chotiwala Resturant which is very tasty.
There are many options for sightseeing like

- Bungee Jumping
- River Rafting
- Paragliding
In some areas nearby Rishikesh there are pharmaceutical factories also. After that we returned to the hotel take dinner and gone for sleep.
Next morning we have our breakfast with tea and other snacks and thereafter we all moved for Mussoorie. The distance is around 85kms from Haridwar. From the hotel they served us the Lunch Pack. The best place of attraction in Mussoorie is the Kemty Falls. We got to saw a remarkable view that water dropping from about 50 feet. We enjoyed bathing and playing in water. There is also a ropeway. Best time to visit is between june to October.
Another best tourist attraction is Gun Hill . After spending about a hour we moved for Dehradun.
The center of attraction in Dehradun is Sahastradhara. It literally means "Thousand Fold Spring". Sahastradhara is famous for it's waterfall and caves. It is also famous for Sulphur water springs which contains medical properties and can cure skin related issues. We find lots of people taking bath.

There are other attractions too but Tapavan Temple and the Clock Tower are the best from others. Moreover the side scenes are quite brilliant. After spending about a hour we wash our hands and enjoy eating our delicious lunch. At about evening time we returned back to our hotel.
Next morning we arrange to return back from Haridwar. Our train is from Haridwar is at night. Thereafter we return back to our respective residential home. That's how we enjoyed the whole trip.
